Where the commas go
Commas here follow the grammar, not the pause. The rules are stricter than English.
- Called
- kirjavahemärgid
- punctuation in an English grammar book
What it is for
- A comma before "that" or "because", pause or no pause
- Rules for lists and for asides
- Quotation marks are shaped differently from English ones
Watch out
Putting a comma where you'd pause is an English habit. Estonian puts them where the grammar changes, so the habit gives you the same errors every time.
